Female Voice: “It’s really creepy. Imagine you’re sleeping at 4 o’clock in the morning and you hear some sort of noises coming from the bathroom…”

Mike Cargill: “I was at home one night sleeping and it’s probably about 3, 4 o’clock in the morning and I get a phone call. I looked at the phone, it was my mother and I thought, ‘Okay, that’s not good.’

“There were three guys who spent 45 minutes to an hour trying to break into my parents home. They took all the screens off the windows of the first floor.

“He opened the back patio, went to the back patio and tried to get into the back door—went to the shed, broke into the shed.

“He got into the shed they pulled a ladder out of the shed and lay that ladder against the house and climbed onto the second floor of my parents home.

“But dad heard that noise and he grabbed this 40-caliber, he stepped over to the bathroom and there was a guy crawling through the window on the second floor of his home at 4 o’clock.

“He fired one single shot, shot him in the face. It stopped right there.”

“Dad dialed the Law Shield. The attorney immediately answered the phone and he immediately started taking care of the case.”

“He immediately contacted the DA’s office, the police department and was trying to figure out what’s going on and get someone to the scene to my parents’ house. I was very grateful for that.”

“This guy fell on the roof of my parents’ house and died on the roof.”

Sherry Hale, U.S. Law Shield Member Ambassador: “This was a horrible nightmare that none of us ever hope to experience. Mike knows, as an instructor and a gun store owner, that there are two things every gun owner needs to know they need to be prepared and they need to be a member of U.S. and Texas Law Shield. Luckily, his parents were both.”

“Mike’s parents called Law Shield from the back of the police car and were assisted by our independent program attorney every step of the way, including questioning at the police station, and I’m happy to report, no charges were filed, thank goodness.”

“His parents were prepared, educated, and protected, but more importantly, they had legal defense for self defense: U.S. Law Shield.”

  1. I served 8 yrs of 10 deferred adjudication for violating a protective order 3 times , judge released me for good behavior after 8 yrs. 2 weeks later a went to academy to purchase a weapon I was put on hold for more than 2 weeks so I went to a gun shop , I went thru the same process but this time I waited 3 days , the gun shop owner called me and I was able to purchase my .45 cal… my question is I was paid for classes and was denied LTC, I do carry my weapon in my truck and it’s concealed from view , if by chance I were to get stopped by the law can they confiscate my gun ?

    • You have fallen into a “loop hole”. The gun store had a legal right to sell you the gun if after waiting three days and not hearing back from the FBI with an answer. Depending on your state laws, there is a pretty good chance that your weapon would be confiscated and you might even have more problems. IMHO

      • I wasn’t convicted of a felony. By federal law I was denied LTC, but by state law I was able to purchase. Can the law in tx. Confiscate my gun?

        • I would not be surprised. The fact that you do not have the license is all the local police would recognize. As I am not only NOT a lawyer and not well versed in all the contingencies of state law, I would suggest you use your membership with Texas Law Shield and ask them on the phone. They are quite knowledgeable and helpful. If you do not have a membership, why not

          • I am a member of Texas law shield, have been for the last 3 yrs … thanks again I will call and ask them

        • Any Texas resident citizen can carry a handgun in their car if..it is concealed and they are not a convicted felon.

  2. You may not be aware.
Please, when you make a video, don’t make the background spooky music so loud it drowns out the man talking with a soft voice.
I turned it off because I couldn’t make out what he was saying, some of us that have worked all their life around loud machinery don’t hear as well in the higher ranges, so the lower tones stand out and cover everything.
I really love hearing good self defense stories, just don’t need all the music.
Thanks for listening to my whining, Have a great Day.

  3. Man! Were those thugs incompetent or what?

    • You’d think that sometime before the hour mark one of the 3 woulda had the thought that this isnt a good idea. Knowing that most people with a two story house tend to sleep upstairs, climbing in a small upstairs bathroom window would get the homeowners attn, the guy was asking to get shot. I bet his two buddies bailed as soon as they heard the gun shot. Im surprised that the homeowner didnt hear the ladder commotion.

    • When are criminals ever smart? That’s why they’re criminals lol

  4. “This guy fell on the roof of my parents’ house and died on the roof.”

That’s one hoodlum who won’t trouble us again!

  5. In Texas and most Southern States we have have firearms and if necessary will use them. The good news though is that afterwards we’ll likely pray for person we were forced to defend ourselves from. Yep, clinging to our guns and Bibles…you know, those things we’re supposed have as fundamental rights under the first and second amendment.

  6. One night my wife woke me and said that someone was trying to get into our back door. I grabbed my .38 and went to my kitchen, and saw the door knob being jiggled. I took a quick look through the door curtain and saw that it was a guy I didn’t know. While my wife called the police, I yelled through the door to the stranger, that I had a gun and would shoot if he came inside. After a few minutes, we heard the police outside screaming at the man to get on the ground, and we et two detectives in through our front door. We were told that the stranger seemed to be under the influence of something, and simply at the wrong house. I had assumed that since the man never used force to get inside, but only jiggled the door knob. My wife and I were both shook up, but I realized that had the man gotten inside, I believe I would have shot him, but was glad that things never got that far.
