If you were a good little boy or girl this year, maybe Santa will bring you one of these new Counter Rocket Artillery & Mortar systems (C-RAM) for your home defense! The PHALANX Gatling gun is the land-based version of the Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) mounted on all U.S. Navy surface combat ships as an anti-missile defense system since the 70’s. The C-RAM was developed in 2004 for use in Iraq as a defense against missiles, artillery fire, and mortars, and fires 20 millimeter rounds at a rate of 4,500 rounds per minute (that’s 75 rounds PER SECOND!) Watch this video to see where your tax dollars have been spent in protecting our troops and your freedom.
